Kevin Fenske recently accepted a position as the Affiliate Artist in Euphonium at the University of Houston and will begin his appointment in Fall 2023. His duties will include teaching applied euphonium lessons, brass chamber music, and low brass methods courses. During the summer, Kevin serves as Director of the Texas Low Brass Academy, is a member of the brass educational team for the Bluecoats drum and bugle corps, and is an active clinician in the Greater Houston area. He has performed with groups such as the Houston Symphony, Brno Philharmonic, and Austin Symphony Orchestra, and has won prizes at various solo and chamber competitions, including the Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival, International Tuba Euphonium Conference, the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Tuba-Euphonium Workshop, and the International Women’s Brass Conference, among others. Kevin holds degrees from the University of Houston (B.M.), University of Texas at Austin (M.M.), and is currently in the process of completing dissertation requirements at the University of Michigan (D.M.A. – 2024). His primary teachers include David Zerkel, Charles Villarrubia, and Danny Vinson.
