New Hire: Jannicke Ellingsen, Norwegian Army Band

The Norwegian euphonium player Jannicke Ellingsen won the audition for a euphonium position at the Norwegian Army Band in March 2023. She will start her work in the band in August 2023. Jannicke received her training from the Grieg Academy in Bergen and from Höchschule Luzern in Switzerland. The teachers during her bachelor and master in performance were Grethe Tonheim, Tormod Flaten, and Thomas Rüedi. She finished her studies with the highest mark in 2015. Jannicke was invited to become an artist for Adams Brass in 2020. Since then she has been traveling to give masterclasses and recitals around the world. As a soloist, Jannicke has had the opportunity to perform with different bands, including the Royal Norwegian Naval Forces Band, Krohnengen Brass Band, Eikanger-Bjørsvik, and Göteborg Wind Orchestra. Jannicke has participated in national and international soloist competitions. In 2008 she won the 2nd prize in the Norwegian National Competition for Wind, Brass, & Percussion. In 2014 she advanced to the finals of ITEC, and in 2017 she won the 1st prize in the Regional Competition for Wind, Brass, & Percussion in Bergen.
