Requirements:

The Advertising Coordinator must be highly organized, have the ability to communicate in a clear and timely manner, meet deadlines throughout the year, articulate advertising opportunities on various ITEA platforms, and create additional revenue through creative thinking while taking advantage of new technology as it presents itself.

Other notes:

Although it is preferred that one has knowledge of the tuba and euphonium community, a background in music is not required.

It may be necessary to communicate in various languages.

Duties:

• Secure advertising revenue for the ITEA through advertising in the quarterly Journal, monthly newsletter, and website

• Maintain, review, and update advertising contracts on a yearly basis

• Collect and proofread all artwork (advertising), insertion orders, and details of each advertisement

• Send all artwork (advertising) to the appropriate locations for inclusion in various mediums

• Create, develop and expand online or other advertising opportunities

• Maintain a database of all advertisers past and present

• Provide each Regional Conference Host with a list of possible vendors/advertisers for possible sponsorship of such an event.

• Continuously look to develop new relationships with potential advertisers while maintaining relationships with current advertisers – including a mail/email database

• Communicate with the Executive Director (ED) accurate and timely information concerning billing of clients. This position will not be required to bill, but rather just send information to the ED for billing.

Compensation:

The Advertising Coordinator’s position is a commissioned salary. This position will receive a 15% commission on yearly advertising monies generated up to $39,999 (does not include conference revenues). The commission will become 20% for all monies received above $40,000. Payments will be made once per quarter.

If conference monies are collected by ITEA, those funds will be paid at the agreed upon rate between the Host and the Advertising Coordinator.

Possible additional duties/opportunities and compensation:

Regional Conferences: The Advertising Coordinator will offer each Regional Host a database of vendors/advertisers to reach out to for sponsorship and prize monies for competitions.

The Advertising Coordinator can additionally offer services to each Regional Host at the compensation rate agreed upon below, but ALL monies collected for conferences will not apply to the yearly commission rate increase. The Advertising Coordinator will agree to a sub-agreement with each Regional Host for services offered. The Host does have the right to do this on their own and thus no additional income is guaranteed to the Advertising Coordinator.
