ITEA Executive Director Scott Hanson Resigns

The International Tuba and Euphonium Association (ITEA) announces the departure of Scott Hanson from his position as Executive Director.

ITEA President James Gourlay says, “For well over a decade, Scott Hanson has worked tirelessly to promote ITEA. His efficiency, good humor, and obvious love for the world of tuba and euphonium will be missed. The entire ITEA family thanks him for his sterling service.”

Scott Hanson is a professional musician, educator and entrepreneur, and has combined his musicianship and business skills for the past twenty years. In addition to his service to ITEA, he is an active private teacher in the Phoenix area. As a professional musician, Scott toured the United States for ten years as a euphonium soloist with the Jack Daniels Silver Cornet Band. He continues to follow his passion for music and education, helping young players improve their musical skills. Scott has taught music classes and private lessons at Mesa Community College, Gilbert Chandler Community College, Central Michigan University, Kalamazoo College, and Arizona State University. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Louisiana State University and a Master of Music in Euphonium Performance from Arizona State University.

ITEA congratulates Scott on many years of dedicated service to the organization and wishes him well in
his next endeavor!
