New Hire: Bruno Gutierrez, U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America

In May 2022, Bruno Gutierrez joined the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America as a tuba player. His duties include performing with the concert band, ceremonial band, and the Airlifter Brass Quintet. In addition, he serves as the Assistant Auditions Coordinator. Originally from Laredo, Texas, Bruno attended West Texas A&M University where he received his Bachelor of Music Education. He then attended the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music for his master’s degree in Tuba Performance. Throughout his schooling, Bruno taught private lessons and freelanced throughout the Panhandle of Texas and Southern Indiana. Aside from tuba, he also plays electric bass and upright bass. His primary tuba instructors include John R. Reimund, Dr. Jeremy Lewis, and Daniel Perantoni. His primary bass instructors include Dr. Nicholas Scales and Christian Dillingham.
