As ITEA roles out this impressive update to their on-line community, I thought I would dive in and create a group that would allow players in the area connect and share information and opportunities for low brass playing in the area. Things like:

    – Local musical groups (names, days they rehearse, any open seats?, do they need subs)

    – Local teachers and if they are accepting new students

    – Local repair shops and/or music stores

    – Stolen horn alerts and information

    – Horns and resources wanted or for sale

What would you like to see in this group? What would you like to be able to get out of it?

If it looks like I don’t have a formal or well developed plan, you are correct. I am hopeful the members will work together to make this a valuable source of information for the Puget Sound area.

Thank you Maestro! – That is very helpful. Do you have any thoughts if the group should remain private or go public? While the intent is to serve and support local musicians, I’d also like the group to serve as an example to others. I would also like to learn best practices from other groups.

I think you might as well make the group public. We have to try out what are the best practices.
Meanwhile, why not invite users to the group that you know live in the area?

    Public it is! Thanks.

Ps I’m inviting folks as I can…. Hoping for the best for the group and the organization. Congratulations on the great roll-out.
