ITEA Journal Volume 34 Number 4 Summer 2007 President's Corner Greetings to you all! The last column I wrote was to be my last, but there has arisen a situation that you haven't heard of yet, at least officially. John Griffiths , our Vice-President/President-elect for the past two years, has resigned his leadership role in ITEA due to some rather serious health problems. Through lengthy discussions with several past presidents, as well as the current Executive Committee, it was decided that I would stay on as President for another two years. Our new executive committee is listed below, and, as you can see, it comprises a fabulous group of folks that will be working on your behalf. Kathy Brantigan has decided that it's time to step down from the Treasurer duties and time commitments, and we are happy to announce that we have hired Jennifer Jester as the first Executive Director of ITEA , and, in this position, she will be taking over the treasurer's office duties, in addition to others. When she officially takes over the reins, the organization's mailing address, official email address and phone numbers will change, but rest assured, we'll give plenty of notification when that change will take place. We are required to keep a treasurer position in place on the Executive Committee, to keep the IRS happy, and to serve as Chair of the Board for the Tuba-Euphonium Press . We are very fortunate that Kathy has agreed to stay, for a limited time, in that position, as it is a reduced amount of time, compared to what she is currently doing. It is time, now, to say a huge THANK YOU to Mary Ann Craig as she leaves office, having served 10 years on the Executive Committee, four as Secretary, and six in the Vice-President/President/Past-President position. We will continue to see her at conferences and such, but her official time with us has come to an end. In my filling the office of President in John's absence, that left a hole in the Past-President position. To fill that position, we turned to Past-President Scott Watson to come back and serve another two-year term in that role. He has graciously accepted our request, and we look forward to working with him again. (As an aside, Mary Ann felt it was a good time for her to step down from the Executive Committee and not stay two more years.) So, there you have it. It's been a busy spring and early summer with all these changes but everything seems now settled, and we look forward to seeing everyone next summer at ITEC 2008 in Cincinnati. 2007 ITEA Executive Committee
