On the Cover: The United States Army Band will host their 25th Tuba-Euphonium Conference from January 30 through February 2, 2008. The Army Band conference has grown into the largest annual event of its kind for tuba and euphonium and, believe it or not, is still free and open to the public. Many thanks to the author/compiler of this issue's cover article, Jeff Arwood, who along with Colonel Eugene W. Allen, former leader and commander of The Army Band, Jack Tilbury, Ross Morgan, Bob Powers, Neal Corwell, and John Mueller were instrumental in the founding of this great event. Pictured on the cover is the 1983 U.S. Army Band Tuba (Left to right: Michael Wagner, Jack Tilbury, Mike Gallo, Ross Morgan, Otis Wilson, Tom Waid, and Jeff Arwood).
