Not only noted for his superb musicianship and stature as one of the greatest tubists of our time, he is also recognized for his achievements as a pedagogue, public school band director, mentor, and father. He remains a role model for all. The ITEA Journal extends great appreciation to Dave Amason, Mrs. Pat Johnson, and Mr. Johnson’s many friends and colleagues who contributed their thoughts in his memory.
