The Hawkeye Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference will be held at the University of Iowa Voxman School of Music and will feature solo recitals, ensemble concerts, master classes, lectures, workshops, and a mass tuba euphonium ensemble.

With a theme of “Innovation,” HRTEC will showcase exciting performances featuring premieres, technology, and singularly unique performances. As part of the centennial celebration of the University of Iowa School of Music, HRTEC will also showcase UI faculty, student ensembles, and outstanding alumni.

Featured artists scheduled to appear include famous low brass alumni of the University of Iowa, Chester Schmitz, retired principal tuba of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and David Werden, former soloist with the U.S. Coast Guard Band. A special feature to HERTEC will be a presentation on the life and career of Iowa native Bill Bell by ITEA historian Carole Nowicke. Numerous performers, teachers, ensembles and exhibitors from across the Midwest will be featured during this three-day event. For more information, contact John Manning.

The ITEA South Central Regional Tuba/Euphonium Conference will feature performers from the area: professionals, teachers, college and high school students. Our goal is for everyone attending the conference to participate in the conference. A tentative list of artists includes Brian Bowman, Larry Campbell, Rommel Cordova, Jeff Cottrell, Robert Daniel, David Graves, Edward Jones, Yutaka Kono, Donald Little, Eileen Russell, J.D. Salas, James Shearer, Dan Sipes, Joseph Skillen, Jan Tracy, the Vortex Tuba/Euphonium Quartet, and Kevin Wass. Student ensembles from Baylor University, Blinn College, Hardin-Simmons University, Sam Houston State University, Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Texas Tech University, the University of Texas-Arlington, and the University of Texas -Austin are tentatively scheduled to perform. World premiers of several new works will be featured.

We hope you can come early and stay late to take advantage of the University's world-class museums and libraries, including the LBJ Presidential Library, the Harry Ransom Center, and the brand new Blanton Art Museum. See what Austin has to offer, too: the wonderful Bob Bullock Museum of Texas History, the State Capitol, the live music scene, and, of course, a little Tex-Mex and some barbecue. SWRTEC 2007 is the closest regional conference for ITEA members in Arizona as well as much of New Mexico, Southern California, Nevada, and Utah. This conference will focus on the outstanding talent of the region, including college and university students and faculty members, orchestral musicians, military band musicians, and emerging professional artists. Featured events will include recitals, master classes, clinics, career seminars, and student solo and ensemble performances. Accompanying some of our soloists on Friday evening's concert will be the University of Arizona Wind Ensemble. You are invited to bring your instrument and participate in daily reading sessions and clinics. Confirmed guest artists include Pat Sheridan, Matt Tropman, Deanna Swoboda, Kevin Wass, Steve Call, Hank Feldman, Mark Nelson, Jim Shearer, Jason Byrnes, and Barton Cummings.

Tucson, Arizona is one of the most exciting tourist towns in the United States. With its excellent live music scene, vibrant nightlife and fantastic variety of restaurants and shops, a good time is sure to be had by all! Greetings from Memphis! Plans for the Mid-South Regional Tuba-Euphonium Conference April 20–22 at the University of Memphis are well under way. We are very excited about our line-up of events and artists. Here is are a few highlights:

Night: Jazz on Beale St .- The University of Memphis Southern Comfort Jazz Orchestra will feature New York Jazz artist Mike Fahn, followed by the Modern Jazz Tuba Project (MJT) from Nashville.

Sunday April 22
Afternoon: Closing Concert–The University of Memphis Wind Ensemble will perform with guest artists Jens Bjørn-Larsen, tuba and Demondrae Thurman, euphonium.

The Florida Regional ITEA Conference continues to build momentum. The event will take place in Sarasota (Florida) from Thursday, May 24 concluding on Saturday, May 26. The conference will be based along the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico at the home of the Florida West Coast Symphony.

Professional tuba and euphonium players from across the state will present a wide variety of concerts, master classes, and panel discussions. Some of the featured Florida artists will be Gail Robertson, Bob Carpenter, Mo Anderson, Jay Bertolet, Chester Schmitz, Tom Kracmer, Marc Dickman, and Claude Kashnig (plus many others!). Deanna Swoboda from Western Michigan University will also be a featured guest. Florida-based composers and composers with Florida connections will be featured (these include James Stephenson, Jan Bach, Bill Brusick, and Joe Kreines). Gwyneth Walker, the outstanding composer of a tuba concerto, many brass quintets, as well as numerous other compositions, will also be in residence during the conference.

Thursday night's opening concert will be held at St. Boniface church on spectacular Siesta Key. Works featuring the magnificent pipe organ (plus tuba/euphonium) will be the focus of this concert. Friday night's feature will be a concert in the newly restored 18th century Italian theater located on the grounds of the John and Mable Ringling Museum. Given Sarasota's ties to the circus (as well as the deep roots of the circus band tradition to our instruments) it is only fitting that this concert will have a circus theme!

The International Tuba-Euphonium Association's 2007 Northeast Regional conference will take place on September 21-23, 2007 in Leamy Hall on the grounds of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.The Band's tuba and euphonium sections have been active in ITEA activities since the Coast Guard Tuba-Euphonium quartet was first formed in 1976. The nation's first professional ensemble of its kind, the quartet gives concerts and educational clinics throughout the country. The U.S. Coast Guard Band is proud to host this event; look for more information on our website soon.

The U.S. Army Band is proud to announce the 24th Annual Tuba-Euphonium Conference. The Conference features concerts, recitals, exhibits, master classes and lectures by leading low brass authorities from around the world.

The 2007 Conference will open on Wednesday, January 24 and close Saturday, January 27. Events on all four days are free and open to the public. No tickets or reservations are required for the events. There is no registration fee and any tuba or euphonium player is invited to bring their horn for reading sessions. Military musicians are invited to perform with the Armed Forces Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble.

The Conference will take place at Brucker Hall on historic Fort Myer, Virginia. Fort Myer is located across the Potomac River from Washington, DC, and is accessible by Interstates 395 and 66 and by U.S. Route 50.
